1. League shooting will begin the first Thursday night of May.
2. In recent years there has been a problem with teams not starting on time which has caused teams to not finish on time. No one likes to be ready to shoot at an assigned time and then have to wait 10 – 15 minutes for the team ahead of them to shoot. If you have any problems with continually starting late, see Jerry or Cassey. If a problem gets brought up after the league is over, nothing can be done about this.
3. Traps 1, 2, and 5 – 9 will be open for league. Each team will shoot at the same time and on the same trap each week during league. Teams will get the opportunity to shoot at the same time and on the same trap that they had last year. After that, traps will be assigned on a first come, first serve basis.
4. Trap 4 will be open for doubles at all times. We hope to see many teams and individuals try their eye at doubles. Pay for your doubles in the club house. You need to write your first and last name on the doubles score sheet. Cassey will check to make sure that each person has paid their doubles fees at the end of each Thurs. night. You must shoot 5 times to have your scores qualify for prizes.
5. Trap 3 will be open for our individual league. Pay for your individual league in the clubhouse. You will need to write your first and last name on the gold individual league sheets. Cassey will make sure that each person has paid the individual league fees at the end of each Thursday night. You must shoot 7 times before your scores will qualify for prizes. Awards and divisions will be based on ability and the number of shooters.
6. The practice trap will be open at all times. If we have a team who needs to shoot make-up, we can close the practice trap on any night of league. Buy your practice trap tickets in the club house.
7. For the first two weeks of league (April 17th and April 25th), teams will shoot 25 birds at 16 and then 25 birds at 23. The teams’ scores for the first two weeks and the averages from last year will be used to determine which class they will shoot in. The scores from the first two weeks will NOT be averaged in as a part of the team score for the first half of the league, AND they will NOT be a part of the individual averages. After the first two weeks of qualifying, teams will shoot from the determined yardages, and the scores will start over. Teams who won their league will be moved up a league as long as they still have three of the same shooters who shot at least 6 weeks from the year before. After the first two weeks, the team with the highest score in their respective leagues will shoot from the farthest yardage for that league. AAA’s and AA’s farthest yardage will be 27; A, 26; B, 25; C, 24; D, 23 unless teams need to be moved back because they are so far ahead in the league. Other teams will shoot 1 yard closer for every 5 targets they are behind the leader in total score. League is 16 weeks total. After 8 weeks, a first-half winner will be declared. Scores will start over, but that night’s yardage will be determined by the scores at the end of the first half. If we have a different winner for the first and second halves, a shoot-off will happen on the night of the banquet. For a shooter to shoot in a shoot-off, he/she MUST be on your roster AND MUST have paid secretary fees.
8. You must have a minimum of three members from your team to shoot. You may pick up any shooter you wish. If you don’t pick up a shooter during the first two weeks, a dummy score will be used. The dummy score will be the average of the shooters present that evening. To be eligible for winning the league, you MUST have 5 people shoot at least ½ of the league. Because of this, we strongly encourage the use of pick-up shooters if your team is going to be short. This not only provides shooters will the opportunity to shoot more birds on league nights, but it also helps your team’s score and puts money into our gun club so we can continue to make improvements. A team CANNOT use a pick-up shooter if they have 5 team members present. After the first two weeks, dummy scores will be determined by the average of the person/people missing, who has/have shot the most, minus 2 birds. If you don’t have a person’s average to use, the dummy score will be an average of the people who shot minus 5 birds.
9. Make-up shooting can happen one week ahead or one week behind the night missed, but teams can only shoot two times on the same evening UNLESS they get permission from Cassey. Make-up can be done at 8:00 on the practice trap or on any house when all the teams for that night have finished. If a team shoots ahead, they will shoot from yardage that Cassey determines. Inclement weather is NOT a reason to not shoot if the league committee determines that league shooting will be held on the night in question.
